- 4 cups bread flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups buttermilk

- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a baking sheet.
- Mix the flour, salt, and baking soda together. Add in the buttermilk and mix well with a large fork. On a floured surface, knead the dough for one minute. Pat dough down until it is about 1 to 2 inches thick and 7 to 9 inches in diameter. With a knife, cut a large ‘X’ in the middle. The ‘X’ should pierce about halfway through the dough. Place dough on baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven until springy and lightly browned, 45 to 50 minutes. Wrap in a damp towel or paper towels for about 1 hour before serving.
