Sleep is often neglected and some people even label it as an unproductive activity. However research has shown your body needs to rest for it’s own sake. Sleeping ensures that when you wake, you can be more productive, because you are well rested. It ‘recharges your batteries’. For example when you go to sleep your body can help rebuild broken tissues in the muscle and help them grow back stronger. Also, when someone is tired because they haven’t been to bed for long enough, it can have negative knock-on effects on their attitude. These are just some of the ways that sleeping and relaxing benefit your body and your mind.
