Hunter Focus Overview

Another supplement from the popular supplement manufacturers Roar Ambition the creators of highly regarded supplements like 4 Gauge and Instant Knockout. Here we have a nootropic supplement – which I beleive is a first for Roar Ambition. At first glance the product and the rest of the Hunter range comes with a well finished, professional packaging which is most likely done since it is targeted at an older professional audience rather than a bodybuilding focused audience like their other supplements. This product features a well researched ingredient list with some ingredients I.e. Lion’s Mane Mushroom that have particularly caught our attention recently in other supplements.

What does Hunter Focus do?

Hunter Focus claims to help you:

  • Perform better both in work and at home.
  • Get more mental energy, focus and drive.
  • Work faster and more efficiently to meet all deadlines.
  • Improved problem solving skills to overcome complex problems.
  • Smash all of your targets perform successfully.

Pros:

  • Natural ingredients that have been included to actually improve cognitive function rather than including stimulants and other ingredients that have short term affects.
  • Well research high-quality ingredients that have been chosen for the benefits rather than just to act as a filler in the supplement.
  • Highly trusted manufacturer – as we mentioned before Roar Ambition is the creators of other high-end popular supplements which shows they can be well trusted and in addition to this they don’t include a proprietary blend so there are no hidden ingredients.

Cons:

  • Premium product, premium pricing – Hunter uses a number of high-end ingredients which explains a higher price however it is still quite pricey and makes it one of the more expensive nootropics. With the exception of the 4 bottles for the price of 3 deal which is good value for money.
  • Ingredients like L-Theanine, L-Tyrosine and Passionflower are questionable choices since their effects aren’t as long lasting. However, their immediate effect is evident making the supplement effective when taken through the day time.

What's in Hunter Focus

Phosphatidylserine

Phosphatidylserine or also known as PS is chemical molecule that naturally acts as a neuro-protective film which both helps the brains neurons pass on information to the next cell as well providing neuro protective and regenerative properties to protect your brain cells. Lion’s Mane Mushroom is said to contains compounds that have benefit and help synthesise Nerve growth factors. The fungus is also said to have anti-inflammatory effects which benefit the immune system. These anti-inflammatory compounds are said to have properties that helps users deal with anxiety and depression, users have noted this while taking Lion’s Mane Mushroom supplements.

Bacopa

An extract from an Indian herb, which contains compounds called bacosides A and B. Both of these active ingredients in Bacopa are said to improve the body’s response to stress as well improving the signal strength between brain cells. This allows users to work faster as well improving learning by better neuron communication. Supplementation of 300 mg Bacopa extract for 12 weeks showed significant improvement in memory tests.

Citicoline

This ingredient is a compound built of two separate active ingredient cytidine and choline, when citicoline is ingested t is separated by the body into these active ingredients. When your body consumes holine it converts it to acetylcholine, a chemical which improves the signal strength between neurons. This improves attention, memory and learning. Cytidine is converted to uridine by the body which repairs and protects your brain cells.

Aswagandha Extract

Compounds in Ashwagandha have been found to repair axons and dendrites which communicate between nerves, this is said to improve the brains memory. Ashwagandha also boosts choline levels which boosts brain signal strength as explained above. Ashwagandha is also said to reduce mental and bodily stress, it does this by reducing the level of cortisol (the body’s stress hormone) which as a result reduces stress and shyness.

Passion Flower Extract

Passionflower is a plant that contains flavonoids which increase levels of the amino acid GABA which is a chemical messenger in the brain. GABA helps anxiety as well as improving your sleeping pattern which is better for your well-being. An additional benefit is that it promotes the release of dopamine in the brain, to improve your mood as well as helping your focus.

N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine

Another amino acid, your brain uses L-Tyrosine promote the synthesis of  dopamine, epinephrine and norepinephrine. These chemical messengers enhance your memory, improve focus and problem solving skills, essentially helping you to stay sharper. L Tyrosine reduces the effects of stress and fatigue allowing you to stay focused and meet deadlines.

L-Theanine

An important amino acidL-Theanine elevates levels of dopamine and serotonin and GABA which controls your brain’s reward centres, as a result it lifts your mood and energy levels. Furthermore, L-Theanine can have a number of brain benefits which are detailed in the linked article.

Maritime Pine Bark Extract

MPB showed improved levels of focus through an 8 week study exploring the effect of the ingredient. It is said to do this by increasing the levels of glucose and oxygen essentially giving the brain more power to perform better.

Our Verdict

Review Conclusion

Overall, we’re fairly pleased with this nootropic it features a good range of natural nootropic ingredients both well established ingredients and some that are slightly newer to the market like Lion’s Mane Mushroom. I did mention that the ingredients with shorter term is a slight drawback to this product but it is important to mention that this supplement is meant to be taken through the day so these ingredients could be added to receive immediate positive effects to focus levels. So, the only real negative is the pricing which is quite high for a nootropic but as discussed a premium pricing strategy for products like this is quite common. To conclude, we’re happy to recommend this product and we have subsequently scored it quite highly.
