Manufacturer Description

Combat Powder by MusclePharm is an advanced time-released protein blend that provides a steady supply of nutrients and amino acids for up to 8 hours. With a concentrated blend of whey protein, casein, branched chain amino acids, and digestive enzymes, Combat Powder fuels your body for greater athletic performance and more intense muscle building results. Combat Powder is packed with high quality, powerful ingredients to ensure maximum results in all workout sessions. One of these compounds, L-Arginine, increases muscle gain and reduce body fat because of an increase in nitric oxide, leading to greater blood flow. Combat Powder also contains a concentrated blend of branched-chain amino acids that increase protein synthesis, repair, and endurance when combined with resistance exercise. The micro-filtered whey protein blend contains whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate, and whey protein hydroslate for maximum muscular and fitness support. Ingestion of whey protein isolate has been shown to increase strength, improve body composition, and prevent muscle hypertrophy during resistance training. Combat goes one step further by combining whey and casein for an unstoppable blend shown to promote dramatic anabolic growth after resistance training. Combat Powder comes in delicious, low-calorie flavors for a complete supply of protein and fuel in a shake you’ll actually enjoy.

Disadvantages

  • Usually needs to be mixed extra thoroughly to achieve the desired texture.

Consumer Testimonials

“Very happy with this protein powder. I’ve tried many other protein powders over the years including BSN Syntha-6, Dymatize Elite, Muscle Milk. In my opinion, it’s really hard to tell if a protein “works” or is “good” without laboratory tests and studies. I consider this a good protein based on the types of proteins included (not just one kind), the reputation of the company based on other independent studies, the types and amounts of different ingredients, chemicals, sugar, etc., how well it mixes, and taste. From what I saw, this protein and company got great reviews. It doesn’t have too much sugar, but still tastes really good, and mixes super easy. I take this protein as a quick healthy snack, use it in my breakfast smoothies, after workouts, and/or before bedtime.”

“Tastes just like a milkshake but it’s actually good for you. I only take it post workout and it’s very satisfying. The only complaint I have is that it doesn’t mix well with almond milk and I gained tons of weight compared to the other protein powder I usually used: Eidpro. I think I’ll stick to Eidpro since I get the same amount of muscle gains without the gas, bloating and horrible weight fluctuations.”

“The vanilla is SO much better than the horrible “chocolate milk” flavour. Mixes well with heavy shaking in bottle. A good moderate-price point protein. Not elite, but good.”

“I’ve been taking some form of protein powder for over a decade. Recently, I’ve looked for an all-in-one powder that I can take after workouts as well as before bed or throughout the day if I get hungry or need a quick meal replacement. This is as opposed to taking whey after a workout, and casein before bed; I just got tired of buying multiple tubs of protein powder. This product fit the bill nicely. I look for 4 things when picking out a protein powder: 1. Nutrient profile: This has 25 grams of protein, and includes a mix of whey and casein, which is what I was taking before in two separate products. It also has 5 grams of carbs, which is fairly low (I’ll buy anything with single-digit carbs, but the lower the better). 2. Flavour: Tastes good. I usually get protein in either chocolate or vanilla, and I got the chocolate Combat Powder. It doesn’t have any weird aftertaste or grainy flavour, which is a problem sometimes. I usually mix it with water, and tastes about as good as protein mixed in water can taste. I’ll occasionally mix it with milk, which tastes even better. 3. Mixability: Mixes well in water or milk in my shaker bottle, with no clumps. A little bit sticks to the side, which is normal. 4. Price: Price was pretty good. Under $40 for over 50 servings of quality protein is a good deal. It’s not the cheapest protein powder, but is among the best-priced protein for what you get.”
