Piracetam Overview

Piracetam was developed by Romanian chemist, Corneliu E. Giurgea, in 1964. It was created by converting 2-pyrrolidinone into an amide. Piracetam was the first racetam (specific class of drugs) developed and has a long history of use in the medical field. Although it has been observed to have medical benefits in other countries, it is not registered in North America and is used off label as a nootropic. Since its discovery piracetam has been used as a nootropic agent for the enhancement of memory in human beings.

What does Piracetam do?

Piracetam has been used for decades as an off label nootropic agent. It has been observed to be effective in increasing cognition and memory, learning, focus and reaction times but results vary. Below are some of the benefits that have been reported off label and in medical studies.

  • Increased Memory
  • Improved Learning
  • Greater Focus
  • Heightened Sensory Function
  • Reduced Anxiety/Depression
  • Improved Vasodilation
  • Reduced Brain Trauma

Consumer Testimonials

I’ve been using nootropics for three years and when I got my hands on this bad Larry I was really surprised how it made me feel!
Its pricey but the effects are felt (for me) in an hour.

Ive bought Peak Nootropics’ Piracetam three times now and am sure I’ll be placing a fourth order.

Not just the product is great, but so is their customer attention and shipment. I live in Madrid (Spain) and have always received my shipment fast and in good order.

I really found this helpful for thinking clearly, memory, and cognitive processing speed. Starting with a low dose (.5 g), I settled on taking 4.5-5 g once daily in the morning, dissolved in water. The biggest, noticeable difference was when I stopped using piracetam, and felt a real sluggishness in my thoughts with slower reaction times. Then I realized how much it had been helping me on a daily basis. It’s definitely a valuable product.

Our Verdict

Hardly any unbiased reviews are to be found for this product, so it’s hard to call. The list of potential side-effects are worrying, though. The website states that “results seem to vary”, which, for some, will speak volumes.
