Manufacturer Description

Since we know the research says that a blend of whey protein and casein protein is optimal, we found the best source of whey protein to add to our Milk Protein Isolate to bring the ratio of whey and casein to perfection. Whey Protein Concentrate (WPC) can be composed of anywhere from 34-80% protein. We elected to go with the highest quality possible, WPC-80 for short. This not only gives you the most high-grade protein for your buck, but unlike whey protein isolate, WPC-80 actually contains intact growth factors, allowing you to maximize lean muscle growth. You’re short-changing yourself by using any other source of whey protein, period. And trust us… if your protein doesn’t list out the percentage of its whey concentrate there is a pretty good reason… So do you “just whey?” Maybe the answer has been yes for all these years, as it was for me. But it’s time to give your body what it deserves. Put down that 100% whey protein shake and stop living in the past.

Using the precise ratio developed by our experts, you will finally gain the edge that all those “wheys of the past” promised. We’ve done the research. The ball is in your court now. You have the power to SELECT what’s best.

Disadvantages

  • Contains thickeners.
  • Quite pricey.

Consumer Testimonials

“This is one of my favourite “chocolate” flavours. It is NOT a pure chocolate. It is not a rich or deep chocolate. It does not taste like a Dairy Queen chocolate shake (there are powders that do). But it is mostly chocolate in flavour and it is excellent. They really were able to add a rich frosting type flavour too it. Excellent consistency, pretty low calorie, fair price.”

“I LOVE LOVE PEScience protein powder. I have now done a full switch to all their products. I have tried many protein powders in my fitness journey and this is great in terms of the taste, no chalky tastes at all, and no fillers!”

“I tried the Snickerdoodle flavour, and it really is delicious. It is a bit too sweet for me, so I use either plain water or, if using a nut milk, I use 50/50 milk and water. I love how the carbs are 1g per serving. However, it is quite pricey at $33 for not even 2 lbs, so I will probably stick with ON for that reason. If PE Science doesn’t reduce their price point, I can’t see them ever running with the big boys.”

What's in Select Protein

  • Milk Protein Concentrate (contains milk).
  • Whey Protein Concentrate (contains soy).
  • Natural and artificial flavours.
  • Ground vanilla beans.
  • Sodium Chloride.
  • Thickener (guar gum E412).
  • Sweeteners (acesulfame K E950, sucralose E955).

Our Verdict

PE Science has created a high protein, low carbohydrate powder that delivers on most fronts. Great flavours (if one is too sweet you can simply alter the liquid you mix it with) and some good reviews back up their reputation, but it’s not the cheapest protein powder on the market. Our advice? It’s good, but you may be better off with something a little cheaper.
